Petra de Luna was named after my late grandmother. A strong, beautiful Mexican woman, Grandma Petra as we called her; raised 10 children alone. I started this shop with her kindness, love and strength as my driving forces. Someone once told me… if you are living a blessed life it is because someone before you has sacrificed to make it so. My grandmother was illiterate and only spoke Spanish. She was a migrant worker with 10 babies and a 3rd grade education. My life’s work is a tribute to her sacrifices for us.
At Petra de Luna we travel the world to find some of the most unique and stunning artisans on the planet. More importantly we hear their stories and experience their cultures. We always pay fair wage and strive to serve families of these communities by learning and respecting their cultures and traditions . From the indigenous tribes of the highlands in Guatemala to the natives of the middle east… We scour the world for the uncommon pieces, but mostly for the kind, loving, strength of the people of the world.
So from our family to yours… We hope you find our love of community and beauty in others is just what you are looking for. Enjoy the journey!
Be Strong. Be Kind. Be Love.
